Death Railway - the final part of my own "Bangkok Dangerous"
Once again I update my blog after a period of absence and today its the final part of my Thailand journey.
Continuing from where I left off last time, I went to the train station straight after checking-out.
The transportation we used to go to the train station is none other than a train, a subway train that is.
The moment we arrived at the train station, a worker helped us check our tickets and told us what time and where to wait for out train.
Departure time : 3.30
Platform : 9
Car : 3
And so we proceeded to put down our baggage at the counter and looked for a place to have lunch.
We looked all over the place and we could not find any place to have a cheap lunch.
There were a lot of stalls selling breads and buns that is freaking expensive.
There was also a KFC nearby but surely it won't be cheap.
Thats when I saw a canteen.
Its doesn't really stand out due to various reasons that I'm too lazy to explain(and I bet you don't really want to know).
Food there is tasty and cheap. But the drinks is a little weird.
My cousin ordered milo and it looked more like rusty water than milo.
We asked him how it taste and he said he don't know, but it taste like milo. (WTF?!)
Due to the fact that none of us can speak in Thai, ordering food was a bit hard.
I ordered chicken rice and I tried so hard to ask for extra rice, but I failed.
After lunch we went to MBK to kill some time.
On our way to the subway, a local stopped me and asked me for directions to the main train station, in thai.
I sort of understand what he was talking about since he kept mentioning Hua Lam Pong(or smtg like that)
I somehow managed to tell him where it was and he thanked me. Do I really look like a Thai?!?
And so we went back to the train station before 3.30
As I walked along the platform, I was utterly disappointed.
The trains look way way way way different from what I pictured it to be.
Its old, rusty and smelly. It looks a lot more like those train in India and China that you see in newspaper.
Still, life goes on. Its not like I have another choice either, kekeke.
After wasting some time finding our train car(the train car numbering sucks), we alighted and looked for our seats.
Once again we are confused by the weird seat numbering and all of us are separated from each other.
We only found out the reason why later.
We are only sitting together because the seat was vacant.
And so the journey on the Death Railway begun.
At 1st, the scenery outside is rather interesting since there is a lot of stuff to look at.
After 2hours, everything changed, its just vast plains with cows and birds.
A view outside the window in the evening.
A view of the train in the evening.
Everytime we pass by a train station, some people will come on board to sell food.
My brother bought some rice with eggs and pork.
It looked very tasty since we had nothing to eat, there is just 1 little problem.
Its full of cili padi and I'm not fond of spicy stuff.
Finishing it made me drank at least 1 liter of water.
After that, it is still the same old boring scenery.
I tried to sleep but after sleeping for so long I just couldn't sleep anymore!
At around 7~8 o'clock, there was a worker turning the seats into beds and thats when we found out why we are separated. All of our tickets are for the upper bunk and the seat number is arranged in top/bottom style.
this is my bed. look how close the fan is to my head
Getting to experience something like this made it a whole lot less boring.
But the excitement only last for a short while.
Sienzzzz
Later at 1am, I started to feel hungry and I walked around the train looking for a cafeteria.
The cars behind does not have beds like ours.
Because of that, the way they sleep really amazes me.
Some of them sleep on the floor with blankets over their body, like their dead.
After passing through a few more stinky toilet, I reached the cafeteria.
There I called my brother and cousin over for midnight snack.
Even though the price there is very expensive, the food tasted so damn good.
The 50baht fried omelette was the best I've ever tasted!!! And its just eggs, nothing else.
Menu of the day : white rice, fried omelette and pork soup.
The 'BEST' supper in my life.
After finishing our meal, we just sat there and chat. We couldn't see anything outside as it was pitch black.
Soon, we noticed that the train stopped. And so we went down the train for a walk.
Suddenly we heard the train ringing its bell and we ran up quickly.
We thought the train would continue moving after stopping for 30mins, but it was just a false alarm.
Later, the train rang its alarm again and it was the real signal.
As the train started to move, we heard people shouting outside.
Guess they didn't make it back in time. hahaha
If everything went accordingly to plan, we would arrive at our destination at 9.30pm.
It would be an 18 hour trip. And so I went sleep thinking that I would wake up just awhile before we arrive.
Guess who is this?
The next morning my brother woke me up and told me to pack up some stuff that I took out.
The worker was putting the beds back and I went to wash my face.
What a good day. Within a few hours I would finally get off this god for saken train.
But then disaster struck!!!
My brother told me that as soon as I fell asleep, the engine of the train broke down.
And it lasted 6hours, WTF!!!!~
The moment I heard that, I felt like jumping off here :
Along the way, it rained and our car got partially flooded. What a day it turned out to be.
After an agonizing 24hours and 35minutes, the train arrived at our destination, Hat Yai.
Just before I left the train
We head towards Mcdonald that is a few blocks away and waited for the rain to stop, which did not stop.
Soon, we found a hotel that cost 550baht per room.
Its called Sakura Hotel. Its not that bad. The only bad part is that there is only 1 free wall socket.
Charging multiple handphones becomes a pain in the ass.
It was raining the day and so we stayed in the hotel.
That night, I watched Justice Friends on a local cartoon channel and I tell you this, YOU MUST WATCH!!!
I just can't describe the epic-ness of the show. Its so funny that I laugh until my stomach hurts.
Having a good laugh after such a tiring journey really helps you know?
The next morning we ate breakfast at a dim sum restaurant.
Each plate(or basket or whatever you call it) cost 15baht and we ate as much as we can.
It wasn't enough though, therefore we went to the restaurant beside and tried thai-style bak kut teh.
After that we went to a travel agency and booked a car to the border.
We left most of our luggage there and walked around Hat Yai before the car arrives.
There was nothing special here, and the 7-11 here has less variety than those in Bangkok.
When it was time we went back to the travel agency and got in the car.
About an hour later we reached the border, passed through immigration and went back to Malaysia.
And that is all of my journey in Thailand.

Once again I am in the mood...
Continuing from where I stopped last time, I am now in Thailand for 6days.
This is the last day in Pattaya for me and nothing much happened, really.
I woke up, and went down to the hotel cafe for breakfast as usual but its a bit different today.
Instead of seeing a lot of Dmitri, Sergei, Nikolai, Tatyana and Natasha, I saw more Asians instead.
I could see black-haired people sitting and eating around me everywhere.
Normally I would see them walking around serving us.
But still, the Russians were still amazing me with their appetite- 1 big plate of fried rice + bak kut teh(thai style) + buns + coffee. But I don't think that is all, I might have missed something.
After breakfast, I went to the pool by the sea with my bro and cousin.
We just sat down on the beach chairs or whatever you call it, I don't know the actual name.
My brother just lay down and slept while my cousin enjoyed the scenery.
I was writing down what I experienced in my notebook(paper notebook, not a laptop, ok?)
The sea breeze was damn nice, I almost feel asleep while writing.
Before noon, we packed up and checked out, leaving Pattaya for Bangkok.
Thats where me, my brother and my cousin part ways with our parents and my sister.
They continued down south in the car while we spend one more day in Bangkok.
We checked in the same hotel, again.
I decided to stay back in the hotel just to relax after days of walking and exploring.
And then, while I was channel-surfing I saw a programme on TVB(not really sure though, I forgot to jot down this part in my notes) that is freaking funny. One of the funniest part is their "english".
The host ask one the audience in english "how old are you?"
That guy replied "My old is err... my old is twenty-one"
Who the hell taught him english? The teacher and that guy should be punished!!!
Maybe a jail sentence of 10 old!!! haha
Leaving that aside, we went out to MBK to have dinner.
Its one of the cheapest place we can find that has english menu.
There I saw for the first time in my life, a drink counter inside a big shopping mall selling beer.
And not just canned beer, they even have draft beer in a jug. Furthermore, they cost 155baht only!!!
Its really something you can never find in Malaysia, or so I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.
After that, we walked to Siam Paragon to see if there is any happening event there, after all its New Year's eve.
There were a few artist there performing live, a few of them came from Korea too.
But its damn crowded, so we went back instead, hehe.
We took a picture before going back.
We didn't went straight home anyway. We stopped at the station where we were supposed to change from sky train to subway , Asok.
We found a street filled with agogo bars and stuff and we walked through the street.
There we saw a shop that is more normal than the others.
We sat down there and watched MMA fights on the TV there while drinking beer.
After about 4 jugs, my head was feeling very light and it was spinning all around.
My cousin was still looking strong as he finished each cup in a single go.
During the 5th jug, I went to toilet and I noticed I could no longer walk in a straight line.
"OMFG I'M DRUNK!!!!!" was what I thought of.
After we finished the 5th jug, my cousin still looked strong, or so it seems.
As he stood up and went to the toilet, he started talking nonsense.
He walks like a total drunkard too, swaying side-to-side.
And this was my first time getting drunk. I even recorded a video of my cousin and my voice can be heard loud and clear.
For that reason, I decided not to upload the video.
I do not wish to ruin my cousin's image by posting such video and I assure you that there is no other reasons.
The next morning I woke up, it was almost noon.
And so we packed up and got ready to leave for the train station.
Our room, the same one when we just 1st arrived in Bangkok, room 603.
For the next part(Death Railway) visit http://www.xanga.com/crsnlee more often and hope that I have updated it.

Finally I feel like updating my blog. :D
After so, so, sooooo long, I got back the mood to update my blog.
Well, just a bit anyway. There is just way too many stuff to write about my trip to Thailand.
Therefore, I'll be lazy and just write part of it. hehe
On the 1st day there was nothing much, we stopped at Surat Thani and stayed over night there.
The next day we reached Bangkok and checked into our hotel.
The name of the hotel is "The Centric Hotel". Nothing much but the logo is the same as St. John Ambulance's logo.
Its the same star(I forgot what its called), only its orange coloured.
That night I had my first clubbing experience. A club called 'Hollywood'
The english is no better here though. There was this 'Hollywood Hall of Frame' at the entrance.
Inside the club, its just like any other clubs you see, nothing special.
Later, there were girls(not really sure if they ARE girls at all) dancing on the stage.
The 2nd time they appear, the wore bikinis and danced for a very, very, very long time.
On the 3rd day, me, my brother and my cousin went to Jim Thompson House.
Apparently, this guy showed the world how nice Thailand's silk are.
He later died at age 60(or 61, maybe) during a vacation in Malacca.
Story goes that he disappeared while taking an evening walk.
There are many stories about what happened to him.
He was once an officer of the CIA forerunner, called the strategic intelligence office or something.
Because of that, its a bit hard to believe these stories. Who knows?
Someone might have killed him because of some sensitive issues.
The latest story is that he got run over by a Malaysian lorry driver and the driver hid his body.
I'd say this one is quite believable, since malaysian drivers are.... you know what i'm trying to say.
Anyway, his house design is very beautiful and its a western-thai fusion design.
There was also this pond that has a very big stingray living in it.
Inside the house, there is a lot of weird statues. Most of them are said to be Buddha statues.
The weird part is that the statues either don't have heads, or only the head with no body.
Besides headless statues, they also have legless statues.
But still, some statues are complete.
And also, I saw one of the oldest channel in history.
Its M.TV- Mouse TV.
The tv is just a box with a glass in front. And there is a maze inside which the mouse runs around it.
On the 4th day of the trip, we left Bangkok for Pattaya.
We checked into a hotel called "Ambassador City" when we arrived in Pattaya.
I found out that its actually a resort when we arrived.
Originally we were supposed to live in the Garden View wing.
But due to certain circumstances, we got a free upgrade to Marina View wing instead.
Its a newer and bigger building. And it cost a lot more too.
The lift is rather oddly designed. Guess where the switch is?
Here's da answer
The lift in the hotel is damn fast, reaching 16th floor in a few seconds.
Because of that, I thought this hotel must be something big.
I was wrong, when I entered the room, I discovered that it uses keys instead of cards.
The room smells old and the toilet sucks. You can see rush on the shower head. The other plastic shower head leaks too.
After all that, I went down to the pool and swam a bit. Then I noticed that there is another pool further out.
When I reached there, I noticed that the pool was just beside the beach.
That night, I went to watch Muay Thai with my brother and cousin.
It cost a hell lot, at least it is to me. 1000baht, thats almost RM100.
It was worth it anyway. the fights were very exciting.
One round, a westerner knocked out a thai fella.
The next fight, a thai fella beat the crap out of the Italian.
Later the Italian dude talked to my brother and said why he lost.
He blamed it on missing weeks of training, alcohol and smoke.
On da 5th day, I went to a shooting range in Pattaya.
Shooting a real gun cost a lot too, damn.
Total cost including 10 rounds and a gun is 800baht. All of us took different calibers.
I took the .38 special with a Smith & Wesson Model 686.
Its a double-action 6-shot revolver.
This is just picture of the gun I found on the internet, not the actual 1 that I fired.
My brother took the .45acp with Colt M1911A1 single-action semi-automatic handgun.
Once again a picture on the internet.
My cousin jason took the 9mm rounds with a Beretta M9 single action/double action semi-automatic handgun.
The plan was to share the rounds. Each of us would fire a few shots and switch weapons.
But then my cousin fired his M9 like there was no tomorrow.
Even with the hearing-protector, I can hear shots being fired rapidly.
And so we just fired 1 caliber each. This is my target board:
You can see 7 shots only because the camera sucked shit and couldn't capture the 3 other shots in the white ring.
The recoil of the gun is way lower than I expected it to be. I would never ever forget about this experience.
It feels soooooooooooooooooo GOOOOOD!!!
And after the very exciting activity, we went to Pattaya Beach for a stroll while waiting for my parents to finish their massage session. I though I would get a chance to see hot babes in bikini, I was wrong, again.
Most of the beach goers are old fat man and women.
Male or female, they look like they are 8months pregnant.
The senary was not that bad though(just don't care about the people)
This is as much as I will write today. I'm getting sleepy and I have work tomorrow.
Guess I'll finish up next time. hehe

I won't be back till next year
Within one hour, I will be leaving for Thailand.
I'll be going to Pattaya and Bangkok. From what I know, its going to take more than 10 hours to reach there by car.
Besides the long hours, it will also be a very uncomfortable journey.
7 adults(well, I'm almost 18 so I think that counts) in a 6 seater car.
Well, I'll just have to make do with it.
And also, DON'T CALL ME unless its a life-or-death situation.
International roaming cost a lot!!!
I will becoming back next year, seriously.
The 1st of January is already the next year after all. hehehe
Other than that, I made a lot of tang yuen during last Sunday.
Most of it is shaped differently from conventional tang yuen.
I'll show you some of it up close.
This here is a cylinder-shaped tang yuen.
This one is a triangle base pyramid shape.
There are still a lot of other tang yuen I made that I didn't take pictures of.

A very long post
Haven't updated my blog even though I have a lot to write.
Things just keep on happening and I was too busy to update, or maybe I'm just lazy. kekeke
I went to Cameron Highlands with my elder brother and sister without my parents knowing anything about it last wednesday. We wanted to keep it low as the landslide at Bukit Antarabangsa lately will most likely make my mom complain.
Waking up at 6, we got ready in less than 20mins and left for Cameron.
We stopped at Trinkap to have breakfast before resuming our journey.
Our destination is the Boh Tea factory and cafe somewhere near Bukit Brinchang.
I don't really know the name but the cafe is located near the peak.
We stopped at the foot of the hill and hiked up and it was only a short hike.
After touring the factory, we went to the tea house there to eat something and more importantly, drink some tea.
Food is really expensive there, a chicken pie cost RM7!!!
my handsome face at the tea house. xD
Then my brother drove haflway up Bukit Brinchang and parked there.
As I got out of the car I felt droplets of rain and so we wore our ponchos that we bought at a grocery shop in Tringkap.
I think my sister looks like a Taliban.
After that, we hiked 4km up to the peak. All the people that passed by us in a car looked really shocked.
Maybe its because we are wearing shorts and hiking up a mountain when the weather is so cold. Who knows?
Halfway up we encountered 2 foreigners and they said they came from the other side.
They wanted to go to the Boh Tea factory and they didn't know the way.
I was quite shocked, my brother told me there is no other side. The only way is up.
But there is another path, that is through the forest reserve which is a restricted area.
More amazing is how the fuck did they get themselves lost 1 mountain away?
Soon, we reached the top and there was a small blue tower there other than the telecommunication towers.
We rested on the highest floor of the tower for awhile.
taking a picture at least 1.6km above sea level- very cold.
After that we went to Tanah Rata and then we went home, buying some dried strawberries on the way back.
I slept all the way back.
The next morning, I forced myself to wake up as I'm taking my car driving licence course today.
The 1st 3hours of the course was boring shit. The old instructor spoke slowly and his speach was not even close to being interesting. I fell asleep a few times through the course.
Then I ate lunch and waited for the next part- driving.
All the girls get to start their lessons 1st.
For the guys, the driving instructor would go and 'yum char' 1st, wasting a lot of time.
When I finally got in the car, the instructor held the steering and I basically do nothing.
I don't even need to step on the accelerator pedal, just releasing the clutch was enough.
When I finally get to hold the steering, he kept asking me to stop turing the steering even though I'm not even halfway through the turn.
Around 20mins later, the lesson was over and I went home.
During the course, I also borrowed Call Of Duty 5: World at War from Jason Yau.
Unlike Call Of Duty 4, this game is set in world war 2 and you will be playing 2 soldiers.
When your playing the yanks, you will be in the pacific theater killing japanese.
When your playing the soviets, you will be killing Germans in Europe.
After taking a bath, I installed the game and I thought it would start without problem just like Call Of Duty 4.
I was wrong, I clicked new game and selected the difficulty, nothing happened.
I wanted to reinstall the game but before that, I googled the problem and I found the solution.
It was a bit tricky finding the right folders since it was all hidden files and folders.
After that, I played through single player without any noticable problems.
The graphics is not as good as Far Cry 2 or Crysis. Its the same as Call Of Duty 4.
Its not suprising since it used the same game engine from Call Of Duty 4.
There is some minor difference though, limbs can be torn off by powerful shots from anti-amour rifle and heavy machine guns. Shotgun and mortar rounds works too.
This game feels like Saving Private Ryan at some part.
1st of all, there is a flamethrower and burning of the bunkers with it.
When you shoot at either one of the openings of the bunker, the whole bunker just burst into flames, burning anyone inside.
And then there is this hand-thrown mortar rounds too.
Instead of launching them from the tube, you just pick it up and prime it.
How do you use it? Simple, you just throw it like a rock at your enemy
Target spotted*
KAA...
...BOOOOOM!!!~
Anyone near enough will get blow to bits.
For example, this guy got hit by my hand-thrown mortar right at his feet and he lost it. Maybe I can find it back for him.
Hey look, I found the left leg, now where is the right leg?
The game also features bayonet rifle, but only in the pacific theater.
The japanese uses it during their 'Banzai Charge'
They just run at you shouting 'BANZAIIIII" and try to stab you to death with their bayonets.
But if I had one they would only be charging to their death.
Sometimes I charge them with a bayonet rifle too.
ouch!
I'm a back-stabber!!!
This game's story is not as good as Call Of Duty 4 but still its a good game.
The multiplayer part sucked shit. It tries to retrieve account information from the database.
Since i'm using a Jack Sparrow copy of the game, there wouldn't be any info on the database.
And so it crashes my game. I googled the problem once more and all the fix available just didn't work.
The last solution is IP blocking, by preventing COD5 server from assessing my computer, I should be able to pass through it theoretically. The thing is I don't know how to block an IP.
My dumb-fuck modem firewall is complicated as shit and the process of creating an IP filter caused me more problems than when I started.
Seriously, Treyarch sucks to the max. Bring back Infinity Ward!!!~
